The rental process can seem very overwhelming at times.
At Mi Homes, we’re here to make the process smooth, transparent, and stress-free.
Finding the right property
We offer a wide range of high-quality rental homes across North London, Greater London, and wider parts of the UK.
Whether you’re a first-time renter or between moves, our experienced team will help you find your next dream home.
Viewing
Once you spot a property you like, we’ll schedule an accompanied viewing at a time that is convenient for you. We recommend acting quickly to avoid disappointment, as demand in the current market remains high.
Offer
Ready to move forward? We’ll request a holding deposit and a signed holding deposit form (to sign electronically) to show your intent. Once received, we’ll submit your offer to the landlord.
Offer acceptance
Now for the exciting part... Your offer being accepted! Once we are at this stage, we will email a reference form for you to fill in online and submit electronically.
We will then ask you for the following information and documentation (not limited to):
- Your proof of ID (passport)
- Residence permit (if necessary)
- Proof of address (recent bank statement or utility bill dated within the last 6 weeks)
- A forwarding address which may be used post tenancy for any correspondence needed relating to your deposit
- Your last 3 months' bank statements and payslips, or last year’s tax return (if self-employed)
- Previous landlord's contact details
Referencing completed and accepted
Once referencing is successfully completed, you’ll receive:
- Tenancy agreement (signed electronically)
- Tenant statement with payment details
- Required documents (e.g. How to Rent Guide, EPC, safety certificates)
At this stage, we will handle any questions you have and also ask for proof of standing order to be emailed over to us for rental payment purposes.
Key handover
Finally, we will organise a time to hand the keys over to you at our office or the property itself and take the opportunity to wish you all the best and thank you for choosing to move with Mi Homes!
End of tenancy/renewal
Within the final two months of your tenancy, we will contact you and your landlord to find out if you wish to renew your tenancy so that all of your renewal paperwork is completed in a timely fashion.
If you don’t wish to renew your tenancy, and depending on whether we are the managing agents, we will then arrange for a check-out inspection on your last day and deal with your deposit release.
